APPLICATION
The Automated Transmitting and Receiving Center (ATRC) TRS 2000 is designed to provide fixed radio communication channels between dispatchers and aircraft crew to the benefit of the Unified System of Air Traffic Management of the Russian Federation (USATM RF). Suitable for installation both to stationary radio facilities or containers, the ATRC is available in different hardware configurations:
- separated transmitting and receiving radio centers;
- combined transmitting/receiving radio center.
The combined transmitting/receiving radio centers represent a conceptually new design approach to radio communication solutions for air traffic management. Such approach offers the possibility to accommodate transceivers and receivers in single facility or cabinet, install antennas within a limited space and guarantee adequate electromagnetic compatibility. Also, this solution enables to reduce cabling (cables needed for single location only), land lease costs, operational expenses and necessary auxiliary equipment.
ATRC FEATURES AND CAPABILITIES
- Provides simultaneous independent operation from 2 to 46 frequency voice channels;
- Provides redundancy as radio and antenna feedlines radio by connecting to different filtration decoupler;
- Breaks in communication sessions on any of the radio channels air ( due to a malfunction of radio technical equipment ATRC or power failure) 3;
- Provides control uptime each of the transmitting devices in radiation and prevents their continuous operation in this mode in case of failure of the control channel radio;
- Enables multiple receivers and transmitters to a single antenna;
- And ATRC as a whole, and equipment from its structure do not require line maintenance;
- Built-in test provides automatic monitoring of all parameters ATRC , search and localization of faults up to standard element replacement;
- A container with a life support system provides air conditioning and heating , security and fire alarm , video surveillance and a gas fire-extinguishing system;
ATRC COMPOSITION
ATRC consists of the following parts:
- VHF radios and VHF / UHF ;
- Unified cabinets for equipment ;
- Antennas for VHF and VHF / UHF ;
- Filtered decoupling devices;
- Uninterruptible power supply;
- Equipment for remote control (optional);
- Container with a life support system (optional).
HARDWARE INSTALLATION
The hardware locates in standard 19″ racks according to IEC 60297.
- MRP rack – for radios, transmitters , transceivers and radios.
- MK rack – Filter MB and RF combiners .
TRANSMISSION MODE ACTIVATION
From external system side, any ATRC channel can be switched to transmission mode in a following way:
- by DC voltage signal (between +5VDC and +35VDC) applied to central point of transformer at modulating signal side;
- by DC voltage signal (between +5VDC and +35VDC) applied to separate control line;
- by closing transformer central point to ground at modulating signal side;
- by closing separate control line to ground;
- via E&M type V interface.
Control signal type depends on application requirements.
CONTROL AND MONITORING
Dedicated remote control hardware (RCH), that shall be located in Air Traffic Management Facility, provides remote control and monitoring capabilities for ATRC. This hardware provides collection, processing and display of data associated with technical condition of maximum 40 ATRCs as well as manages their hardware configuration. Also, ATRC’s radio communication hardware offers certain additional capabilities to meet demands of different applications.
CARRIER FREQUENCY OFFSET (OFFSET MODE)
To ensure solid communication field under steep terrain (eg mountainous areas) can be installed standalone radio repeaters . If the frequencies of radio repeaters will be slightly shifted relative to the frequencies of the main radio , the dispatcher pressing PTT on one channel mode radiation will go over remote transmitters offset carrier and the aircraft all incoming signals will be accepted without distortion. There is the possibility of a carrier frequency offset transmission and reception (with grid spacing 25 kHz ) according to ICAO, Volume III, Annex 10 .
CONTINUOUSLY OPERATING CHANNNELS
To meet continuous transmission requirements, e.g., «Meteo» channel, ATRC incorporates radio communication equipment that ensures 24-hours channel operation in «Transmission» mode.
BATTERY POWER SUPPLY
Aviation regulations require the installation of air traffic management systems in the emergency radio , power supply which is provided by chemical current sources . The most cost effective simultaneous connection of radio communication equipment AC and DC . When AC AC radio automatically switches to chemical sources without loss of communication and reduce transmitter power .
DUPLEX MODE AND REPEATER MODE WITH TRANSCEIVER
Any single transceiver may use simplex, semi duplex and duplex mode provided that receiver and transmitter incorporates individual synthesizers. In this case receiver and transmitter, each connected to own antenna, enables to use duplex mode and repeater mode.
INTERMODULATION INTERFERENCE AND SPURIOUS RADIATION
When implementing ATRC with lots of frequencies may intemodulation radiations of different orders . To improve the electromagnetic compatibility , reducing intermodulation , out of band and spurious products are used in filtration decoupling devices providing radiation suppression of third-order intermodulation to minus 65 dB, and the out-of-band emission to the level of minus 44 dB.
